#10 Things to Remember when Life Hits Hard and You need your Personal Power Back.

When life seems to be playing pool with your existence

1. The lens from which you observe the situation.

It is hard to undertake an effective action to change your current situation when you are seeing from the lens of impotence, ie. lack of agency to act and change.

But you can pivot that state by doing things that are at your reach of action.

A basic principle of habit formation: Repeated thought or actions patterns cause your brain/body (biological systems) to internalise and automate hormonal responses.

Once those become strong neuronal pathways they keep repeating that loop.

Now you know: You have agency to choose the ingredients of that loop.

2. Think of those "impossibles" you overcame 1 - 5 years ago. (or more)

If you can objectively appreciate how many very challenging situations you have already overcame: this lens will give you a pretty accurate reading of your immense resilience and capacity to focus in what matters.

You are resolute enough to pivot an adverse situation onto a favourable outcome.

Your mind state acts like a filter through which you give different meanings to a same observation of reality.

Example: the way you see a previous struggle now that you’ve significantly evolved after it, versus back then from the middle of the storm before developing the solutions / getting help.

3. You're a Better / Faster / Stronger version of you now, compared to even one month ago!

Important as well: Your mind will reproduce and multiply chains of thought that are similar to your current idea.

What consistence and mistakes do for you: Being faster to make decisions and stronger to endure the process puts you in a complete different level of confidence and personal power.

The human brain typically tries to avoid the unknown because it associates it with the possibility of death or pain. BUT, when you realise you can get past that initial barrier faster, then things start to be smoother.

4. This is your signal to play bigger

Deep inside you know you’re ready, you’ve been doing the work!!

The worst feeling is when your preconditioned/old beliefs contradict what you are clearly ready to do! Another one? People that try to impose THEIR limiting beliefs on you. Just understand: their insecurities don’t determine YOUR WIT.

Have you ever been told “You’re asking too much” when for you it made sense as part of your progression in your career / skills / life interactions.

An answer that shed light on me in those moments:

🧨 Maybe you’re too much just for them!! And you actually need to find something that aligns with the level you are already skilled to play!

🧨 Feeling uncomfortable means you’re outgrowing your comfort zone!!

5. This is your signal to change your environment

  • Difficult moments often force you to wake up and leave a situation or a place you’re not happy in.

  • Lack of communication, feeling unheard.

  • Being told your pursuit doesn’t make sense. Well, it doesn’t when they haven’t worked for it and they’re not ready for that vision.

  • Your personal growth not being reflected from the other side of the equation.

    My meaning of healthy support: genuinely encouraging another person to pursue a path that will bring them positive progression.

    In a way that is not conditioned to you or any expectation of toxic reciprocity, ie doing something that for you doesn’t represent a cost, and expecting the other person to return the same action when for them it comes to a High Cost or inconvenience.

6. Those times you thought that was it, or you even faced close-to-death situations? Look at you now!!!

I’m very sure all of my readers have been through crazy experiences to the point of later on being grateful you could survive to tell the story.

So just reflect on those moments to have a bit of perspective on whether it is worth it to freak out about other particular situations, you’re on your way to solve them! Keep going!!

7. Haven’t you met amazing people when in trouble? You kinda like trouble anyways jajaja

The people you want to surround yourself with will find you halfway as you overcome every stage of challenges.

Stronger bonds and camaraderie develops in those hard moments, where a helping hand, a candid advice or someone willing to just listen you without any judgment come together.

These are the moments that help you realise what true friendship or business partnerships look like for you.

8. Let it come I’ll face it! It’s not the first struggle! I have a thicker skin now!

You could see it this way: “I’m more used to that pain now, I’ve done it before, and I’ve smashed it in the ennndd!!”

Feeling angry is better than feeling depressed. Let me give the context:

When you feel anger, that means your body has enough energy to respond with high levels of adrenaline! Ready to take action and (instinctively) fight to save your life.

This is the same reaction that you’ll get in a competitive scenario. If you have a positive mindset, you can use that strength to move the needle in your favour!!!

When depressed: the mind is focusing in everything that gives the evidence of being helpless, the body responds with low energy levels.

9. Look at “Rejection” like: life guiding you away from people or situations that …

  • Are not aligned with your growth or well-being.

  • Paths or relationships that may hinder your progress.

  • In a Job context: it encourages you to seek more suitable opportunities.

  • In general: it also gives you a stimuli to work on what you could improve to become a better version of you.

10. Things are Scary at first, but can yield some Incredible Surprises. You’ve been there right? :)

Something you always wanted could be right. past. this hard moment.

If your mind is similar to mine, You like a serendipitous surprise tbf.

Reflect on those moments that started as something completely uncertain, scary, but then brought the best people and experiences to your life.

Crazy moments that you’re like: I wouldn’t change it from my life story because it built me as a person.
